Karl Baedeker was a German publisher and pioneer in the business of worldwide travel guides. These Baedeker guides contain, among other things, maps; information about routes and travel facilities; and descriptions of noteworthy buildings, attractions and museums, written by specialists. This guide concerns Switzerland, the adjacent parts of Italy, Savoy and the Tyrol. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally sound, with a slightly faded spine but bright to the boards. Split to the front joint, with the cloth starting to lift, and a small tear to the extremity of the front board. Small losses to the spine and tears to the rear joint. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Closed tear to the first folding map, but the other folding maps and panoramas are in very smart condition. Good.
