The next generation spawned the second version of the Lennon Brothers, three siblings who are joined by Gail Lennon on this enjoyable swing-oriented date. The music is generally predictable (despite the inclusion of a song apiece by Donald Fagen, Paul Simon, and Kipp Lennon) but pleasing, very much in the tradition of the Modernaires and other swing vocal groups of the '40s. There are occasional concise solos along the way from trumpeter Wayne Bergeron, trombonist Alex Iles, and the reeds of Roger Neumann and Bill Liston that add variety to the music. The main fault to this set is its brevity (just 36 minutes) but what is here is enjoyable, making one wonder why the Lennon Brothers are not better known. ~ Scott Yanow, Rovi
