This book is joy to read. Maurice Griffiths captures the flavor of the Thames Estuary in all its moods. The descriptions he gives his experiences sailing a small boat along the channels between trecherous sand banks is realistic. It's a book I'll read over and over and still get a good deal of pleasure from it because it is unique among seafaring tales. The readeer will get the feeling of being right there in the cockput beside Griffiths.
