Great way to prepare for a new baby!
Faster than a speeding tricycle, more powerful than shoelaces tied in a double knot, able to clean sticky milk spills with a single paper towel! Is there breakfast on the table that needs to be eaten? Does a cute little doggie need to be walked and its messes cleaned up? Would the world be a better place if a certain bedtime story were read thirteen times in a SUPER LOUD voice? Looks like a job for.... SUPERSISTER! And no one needs a super sister more than a pregnant mommy who loves to give kisses and has trouble bending down to tie her own shoes. This spunky gal proves to the world that you can start being a super sister even before the new baby arrives. And the best part of life as a super sister is spending your nights dreaming of your adventures teaming up with your favorite side kick, SUPERBABY!
So, I am about 5 months pregnant, and my girls are all excited about having a new baby in the house. I think, for siblings, anticipating the new baby is actually way better than having the new baby, which is why we moms need to make the most of the excitement while it lasts. I'm not saying that siblings don't love their baby brothers and sisters. It's just that babies require lots of time and attention and are really fragile so you can't shove them in baby stroller with your Barbies and parade them down the sidewalk or drag them around the house by the ankle like you do with your favorite doll the way you imagined you would be able to do. Supersister is a great book for helping families take advantage of that magical time when the baby is still just a twinkle in everyone's eye and a pain in mom's lower back. As a mom, my favorite part of the story is that supersister's best super power is thinking up ways to help her mom. My daughters' favorite part is when supersister steps in dog poo and that the dog's name is Poopsie.
