As a youth pastor, I have reviewed seemingly countless youth/teen/kid/young adult Bibles and study Bibles marketed to that same niche. The ESV Study Bible is, in my opinion, the premier study Bible available today. We purposed to get one of these into the hands of every one of our students by the end of this academic year and we have already successfully done so.
The notes are thoughtful, readable and theologically sound and the list of scholars, pastors and theologians who contributed to the overall work is uparalleled. We have found the "Articles and Resources" section especially helpful and unique to the ESV Study Bible. These cover a range of useful topics including overviews of Bible doctrine and ethics, how to interpret the Bible, how we got the Bible, the reliability of the Bible and the Bible and world religions to name a few.
