Blue-green cloth binding is clean and unmarked, a touch of wear to extremities. Binding is tight and solid. Internals are clean and clear and unmarked. The diagrams and equations on nearly every page are sharp, clear. The jacket is chipped around the edges, especially the upper edge near spine. There is a tear on the lower edge. The jacket has a glassine protector on it which is loose at the top edge. This book is outstanding in many features, presenting a meticulous presentation of basic concepts. It is especialy good in its treatment of deflections due to shearing strain and its treatment of the use of the energy concept as a generalized method of solving a broad range of problems.
