Signed on the half title page, "Clarence, You mean so much to our family. We need your continued support. Your Brother, Jesse Jackson." (The book was inscribed to Clarence Avant (1931-2023) he was a prominent American music executive and film producer. There is a 2019 Netflix "The Black Godfather" documentary film that depicts the story of Mr. Avant told by the people he worked with. He was known as "the godfather of black music". Starting as a manager to pianist-composer Lalo Schifrin, he later founded record labels, served as concert organizer, a special events producer, a fund-raiser for Democratic politicians, and a mentor to several African American executives. He also managed Sarah Vaughan, Tom Wison, Bill Withers. ) The book and dust jacket are in very good condition. Interior is clean and tight. Pictures available upon request.
