A husband and wife, nearing their retirement years, move to a sleepy Mexican village. There they reopen a mining operation that they had inherited. The business revitalizes the town. The husband's health is failing however. The wife savors every moment the couple share in the town of Ibarra and the story is told from her prespective. The book weaves tales of the countryside, the villagers and the couple in a poetic, lyrical way. This is some of the most beautiful fictional writing I have ever encountered. Highly recommended.
