I bought this book because I had read a few of his newer novels and they were very nice. This is his first western and it was well written. I did not think I would enjoy reading westerns, but I find them very pleasant compared to the fantasy novels I've been reading over the years. I did notice the style is a bit blunt, kind of like reading an Edgar Rice Burroughs book, simple and to the point. I can't wait to read Black Eagle, which should be just as good as Stone Hand.
