Power cables and low-voltage wiring leading to nowhere, empty voids and mismeasured walls on blueprints, unresponsive panels...Lyndon was suspicious. Of course it was entirely possible that these anomalies could be explained by simple incompetence or obsolescence. But Lyndon, possessed with dedicated aspirations to grandeur, was determined to solve this mystery. New Plymouth was not prone to oversights. Oversights in the matter of aeronautics (especially applied to flying cities) could lead to injury or death, or at least immense property damage.
