The Star Seeker Universe is Young Adult fiction written for adults; a throwback to mid-century modern stories of the first generation of sci-fi authors. It's space opera at its finest with gangster saurians, leonid warrior monks and ursid musketeers. Family friends, it's a fun ride for everyone, young and old alike. Ship plans and star charts adorn the back of each book. Come, suit up, and adventure through the stars once again! Adventure Five: Midshipman Wesley Edwards and the crew of the Star Seeker have been pulled from frontier exploration by the enigmatic Duke William Barclay of Langlais. They have been given a new ship and a new mission - covert operations in Osmani space. It will not be easy: many Osmani believe that the only good human is a dead human. In addition, an evil Archduke is obsessed with destroying piece by piece House Day Star, the house of Ambassador Arnog Brachensclaw. Aboard their new ship the Ambassador disguised as the Alsan freighter Tycho, the Scouts and the Brachensclaw family must elude capture and find new friends if they are to survive. They must cobble together an alliance that will stand against the might of the Osmani Grand Council and their Praetorian Guard - the finest fighting force in the Sixteen Worlds. In their search for help, the ursoids discover that there is more to overcome than just the political forces that oppose them. They must also tackle intense racial prejudice and class struggle in this socially stratified culture. While one ursoid looks pretty much like the next to humans, the Osmani are deeply divided along racial lines. The crew risks everything to save House Day Star. If they do not prevail, the Brachensclaws will be stripped of their lands and titles, their house dissolved and face banishment or worse. If Captain Lane and his crew fail, every human will be strung up from the nearest tree as a warning to other enemies of the Empire.
