This book is an accurate, theologically sound, and extremely apt treatment of the concept of depression. Lloyd-Jones sermons are not the "I'm OK, You're OK" feelgood approach to counseling the Christian. Instead, he asks the Christian to REALLY put feet to his faith. If we believe in the GOOD News, where do we get off allowing ourselves to be enslaved to our emotions? I've known several people suffering from repeated and/or acute bouts of depression who have had the needed "AHA!" moments while reading this book. I read it myself and found it a wonderful lesson, even though I don't really struggle with that particular problem. If you are struggling with depression, or a spiritual low point; I highly recommend this book. Actually, I simply highly recommend this book - no matter what point of life you are experiencing.

This book is one of the most important books for explaining the way to live out ones faith in Jesus Christ. It explains the way to meet the difficulties of life, to war against the tendencies toward discouragement and depression, and the way to glorify Christ in all of life, which should be the goal of every believer.
