This single CD looks at the jazz side of Glenn Miller, reissuing 22 instrumentals from his prime years. Although Miller did not have a great jazz band, his orchestra was capable of swinging and at one time or another had such fine soloists as trumpeters Clyde Hurley, Billy May and Johnny Best, tenor-saxophonist Al Klink and clarinetist Ernie Caceres. This is an interesting set even if it offers nothing that is not available elsewhere. ~ Scott Yanow, Rovi
