'Honest, insightful and vulnerable' Forbes 'Compellingly artful... a blockbuster memoir' The New Yorker 'The most insightful royal book in a generation' Financial Times 'A rattling page-turner... As a personal insight into one boy's life in an extraordinary spotlight, it may never be better' Sunday Times ________ Sunday Times Memoir of the Year 2023 It was one of the images of the twentieth century: two boys, walking behind the coffin of their mother, Princess Diana. Billions wondered what the princes must be feeling - and how their lives would play out from that point on. For Harry, this is that story at last. Before then, Prince Harry was known as the happy-go-lucky Spare to the more serious Heir. But grief changed everything. At twenty-one, he joined the Army but was soon more lost than ever, suffering from post-traumatic stress and crippling panic attacks. Above all, he couldn't find true love. Then he met Meghan. The world was swept away by the couple's romance and wedding. But in the face of sustained press intrusion, Harry saw no other way to protect his wife and children than to flee his mother country. Over the centuries, leaving the Royal Family was an act few had dared. The last to try had been his mother. . . Written with raw, unflinching honesty, Spare is full of insight, revelation and hard-won wisdom about the eternal power of love over grief.

Enjoyed the read - better understanding of royal l
A quick note to let you know that I thought I wouldn't really enjoy the book, but it was a book club read. It turned out that I was intrigued and rather enjoyed his saga. (Yes it is long.) It doesn't always flow, but the honesty and the insight into the trials and tribulations of someone under 24 hour spotlight gave me a new reality check. And heck I certainly wouldn't have wanted to be in his shoes.

Worth It!
One of the most devastating pictures of the 20th century showed two young princes walking behind their mother's coffin while everyone else looked on in horror and sorrow. Billions of people watched the funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales, wondering what the princes were going through and how their lives would unfold moving forward. This, at last, is Harry's story. Prince Harry shares a groundbreaking publication full of insight, revelation, self-examination, and hard-won wisdom about the enduring power of love over grief. It is remarkable for its raw, unapologetic honesty.-- From the flap of the jacket. I had also reviewed this book on other platforms like kindle, shabd.in and pothi. You can also read that.
