I first read this book back in the 1970's when it came out. It's not a long book, but it is a fascinating one. I have kept a copy and loaned or sent copies over the years to friends that I thought would appreciate the story line. Most of the action takes place in the afterlife. That may not sound like a promising place for a story to happen, but Ruth Nichols carries it off very nicely. The story begins at the end of a young girl's life and goes on from there. She deals imaginatively with the possibilities along reincarnation lines. But she does not get bogged down in any kind of dogma or moralizing. The book has a good story to tell and moves along. In more recent years, the movie "What Dreams May Come" has attempted such subject matter. This book is seldom in print and you may have to hunt for it.
