Stepping into the fast lane brings many jolting surprises; among them Brian Canaday, son of the powerful head of Canaday International, and a specter of her poverty-ridden past. Jane struggles to disguise her appearance, re-invent her background and duck Brian at every turn, lest she jog old memories; memories that would be great fodder for the back-stabbing elite of Springhill.
