The release of this 1997 CD was a special event, for none of the 26 piano solos by Teddy Wilson had ever been released before. Made as radio transcriptions, the performances are all quite brief (none reach the three-minute mark) but are particularly valuable, as 12 of the selections are Wilson originals, the majority of which were never recorded again. The pianist also performs swinging versions of a variety of standards and was clearly in his early prime when cutting these highly enjoyable sides. ~ Scott Yanow, Rovi
