The harpist's harpist, Carlos Salzédo, is well-represented in four tracks, Chanson dans la nuit, Scintillation, Rumba, and Boléro, and his virtuoso techniques are central to modern harp playing and this artist's dazzling style. Yet Kondonassis most often approaches the music she plays for its expressive sublimity and musicality, rather than for its showiness, so even though the brilliance of her technique is always apparent, much of the music of the program is quiet and atmospheric.
