Part II includes articles that demonstrate the ways in which hip hop culture and art are practiced in countries outside of the United States. In Part III, students read about the participation of women and members of the LGBTQ community in hip hop. The final part of the anthology speaks to hip hop as resistance and features readings that underscore the use of hip hop in contemporary social movements and activism.
