From the master of literary mayhem and provocation, a full-frontal Triple-X novel that goes where no work of fiction has gone before. 'Six hundred dudes. One porn queen. A world record for the ages. A must-have movie for every discerning collector of things erotic.' 'Didn't one of us on purpose set out to make a snuff movie?' Cassie Wright, porn priestess, intends to cap her legendary career by breaking the world record for serial fornication. On camera. With six hundred men. Snuff unfolds from the perspectives of Mr 72, Mr 137 and Mr 600, who await their turn on camera in a very crowded green room. This wild, lethally funny and thoroughly researched novel brings the huge yet underacknowledged presence of pornography in contemporary life into the realm of literary fiction at last. Who else but Chuck Palahniuk would dare do such a thing? Who else could do it so well, so unflinchingly and with such an incendiary (you might say) climax?

As a long time fan of all thing Palahniuk I eagerly awaited the release of this novel to paperback.(as i do with all of his works) While dissapointingly short, Snuff delivers all of the dark humor and useless facts readers have come to expect from Palahniuks work. The story itself is very simple and lacks the many levels of complexity that is indicitive of Palahniuks early work. The entire story takes place in the green room of a porn shoot. I am aprehensive to give away to many details on the plot as going into a Palahniuk novel only knowing the general idea of the story is always best. So I have this to say, If you are a fan of palahniuks work then definately pick this of for a quick read ( just dont expect it to measure up to Fight Club, Survivor, or Choke) If you are looking for a break from your normal genre of reading and enjoy dark humor then this novel is worth giving a shot. While not his best work Snuff is definately not his worst. A mediocre novel in comparisson to the novels of palahniuks past. Dont take my word for it, check it out for yourself

Chuck Light
As a long-time Palahniuk fan I was looking forward to this title. It has the trademark Palahniuk style and humor, but it seems like this was a story idea more suited to short-story length, at most a novella, and not a full-length novel.
In other novels Chuck goes on interesting, sometimes only tangentially-related detours, but they always add color and depth to what's going on, and I missed that in this book. The better locked-room' scenario is his other novel Haunted, which is a meatier, more interesting read.
Which is not to say the book isn't enjoyable -- there are lots of great Palahniuk moments throughout the next, just not enough to satisfy this fan.
