Seller's Description:
Good. 12mo, 6.25 x 4", publisher's green embossed cloth, gilt stamped on cover, good copy with modest general wear to binding, small snag in the middle of the spine, contents good to very good, bookplate of the Union Philosophical Society in Boston (Bronson Alcott and possibly others in the family were members of it), early signature of a William F. Bates (or Butes), some child's pencilling to flyleaf and child's drawing to one of the last blanks, text with mild foxing throughout, 137 pp. Meant for children, one of the author's many instructional and educational books, but this one distinctly uncommon in the trade and hard to tell how many original copies there are on Worldcat/OCLC with all the computer resources and internet files mixed in.
