Amazing search and rescue story
This is a well documented account of the amazing true story of a shipwreck and the rescue parties that were involved in trying to reach the survivors. The equipment and resources were far from what is available today, which makes this story even more interesting.
In 2005 I was on safari in Namibia and visited this area of the Skeleton Coast, we saw where this story took place, and were told some details of the rescue, amazingly, the tracks of the rescue vehicles are still on the desert sands after all these years. For anyone visiting Namibia and the Skeleton Coast it is a must read.
