Haase; er selbst aber f???hlte recht wohl, dass mit seiner Recension die Sache nicht abgeschlossen sei und noch eine eingehende Behandlung des Gegenstandes erfordert werde, wie dies aus der Bemerkung in der Praefatio zum ersten Bande sei ner Ansgabe p. VIII erhellt: "ludum non ausus sum ad solos c'odices retustissimos Sangallensem et Valentianensem recensere, praesertim cum de illins scriptura aliquotiens non constet pertinuit autem dubi tatio mes non tem ad verba singula, quam ad totes locos, qui illis desant; que in re nolui media illa via ingredi, quam Fickertus elegit, qui cum plurimos ex illis abiiceret, alios tamen retinuit; seilicet nondum exploratum est, quae sit corum origo et sites omnium eadem, an habcnat nonnulli fontem vetustiorem; quare quoniam tutum non erst omnee abiicere, satins visum est pariter omnes retinere unois inclusos, quamvis probabile sit, eos nihil aliud esse nisi supplemonta Nodotianis similia, seculo XV confecta, quae in paucis hand indceta indices, sed maximam partem frigida et eine idonea causa con6cta.
