this is a great guide for people who rescue dogs. It will help you figure out the mixes a dog may have in it and has breeds you may have never heard of. The Golden Retriever's picture could be better but most are good pictures. The descriptions are good-weight, height, and characteristics are included. I highly recommend it for anyone who does dog rescue or works in a shelter.
Arrived quickly after ordering and is in great condition.

Some good, some really bad
This is a handy size for keeping in your car or in a small bag if you want to see some info or photo of a specific breed. Most are fairly accurate but expecially the Maltese is way wrong.
The book says size is 6 1/2 to 9 lbs. AKC standard is 4 to 7 lbs. with 4 to 6 preferred. In a toy dog, this is a big difference.
While most of the photos are nicely done of each breed, the Maltese photo is one of the ugliest I've ever seen. It may have looked like that 100 years ago but today's Maltese is not only sweet but beautiful, classy and elegant. You can see recent winners at the American Maltese Assn. National on the web site provided below. Or any good breeder, myself included, can provide a current photo of this magnificent breed. This book is totally wrong on the Maltese size and photo. Check out the AKC website for an accurate description.
The book does a great job with the Yorkie, why they missed on the Maltese is a good question.
Here is the AMA web site to see photos from the last 15 years.
