Vampire Richard once known as Lancelot returns for a more thrilling adventure. Though not full of great suspense as in His Father's Son, another book in the series, this one is worth every penny. Richard has such depth to him and is quite a hero. His gentleman personality is similar to that of a Knight or a Cowboy. The villians in the story are okay but for once the hero is the most interesting. Though the idea of a vampire Lancelot might not appeal to all readers the idea works better than it sounds. I usually don't like the King Arthur storyline in books but Bennett manages to make it work. This book is for anyone who enjoys action with well rounded characters. Not only is Nigel Bennett one of the greatest actor of all time he proves to be a fantastic writer. He is one of the few authors who should write more books. Besides being an actor and writer he poses for the cover of this novel. Fans of Nigel Bennett should be happy seeing him in full vampire mode on the cover.
