Lily Bard works as a maid in quiet, peaceful Shakespeare, Arkansas, recovering slowly from a horrifying attack earlier in her life and studying martial arts and self-defence. One of her fellow gym members is murdered while working out after hours---or did he just get careless? And why would anyone want to murder him, in any case? The answers are there, though well-hidden, and in the course of untangling the web, Lily finds someone for herself, too. Great book.
