Emma as always can write these short stories to get the plot and the characters from point A to point B. The first story is sort of a fairy tale where the hero saves the heroine who is locked away in a tower awaiting marriage to a man that wants her only because she is a virgin. The hero wants revenge against this man and intends to use her innocence for that purpose. Of course they fall in love. The second story is about a marriage of convience where the couple try to fight their attraction and stick to their "plan" but the convience part becomes a mutual one of love and respect. The third story is about is man who lost his woman to the man in the second story due to greed from neighbors and finds love in the arms of a woman who was attacked by highwaymen. With a broken heart, he doesn't care if he dies, he dives in and saves the damsel. When he finds out she is promised to a very mean man, he vows to help her out of her situation by finding her a suitable husband. He doesn't realize at first that no one but him will do. He fights because he believes he is still in love with the other woman but the heroine in this story breaks through the wall he has constructed around his heart and shows him love once again.
