This is a remarkable book not just because it is beautifully written, but because it is almot unbearably raw. I have recommended it to several therapists who work with victims of sexual abuse, and they have all found it extremely useful. I have heard such victims say that this book "saved" their lives. Nonetheless Michael Ryan is a wonderful story teller, a gifted writer (a poet), and he has made this into a very engaging tale. Parts of it are hard to read, but it is so inspiring, so fascinting, and so well crafted, that I recommend it to anyone.
