However, the toxicity of OO was minimized when SBT seed powder were applied. A significant decrease in the serum cholesterol, LDL-c, ALT (alanine aminotransferase) and TG values were reported, however it increases serum glucose and HDL-c values. Histopathological investigation of the liver reveals that OO intake causes severe adverse changes, whereas SBT seed powder was found to restore the normal condition. It was concluded that SBT seed powder has strong potential to reduce the toxicity of oxidized lipids in model animals.
