Nick D Kim is a New Zealand scientist and cartoonist whose science and general cartoons have appeared online since 1995 under the titles Strange Matter , Lab Initio , Nearing Zero , and Science and Ink . Nick's cartoons have always attracted a significant following among scientists around the world and frequently feature on laboratory and office walls, in lecture notes and thesis front-pages, and a range of science and other periodicals such as Annals of Improbable Research and Phoenixine in connection with which Nick has received three Sir Julius Vogel Awards. This book features the best of Nick's cartoons of the last twenty years - a full set of 310 images in the online archive at time of publication. This is the first time that Nick's cartoons have been published together in a single anthology. (Note that this title refers to the glorious but more expensive color edition of this book. About 80% of cartoons on the scienceandink.com website are colored, and in this higher print-quality edition these are beautifully rendered in full color. There is also an inexpensive greyscale edition of this book with otherwise identical content.)
