High school sophomore "Baby" Anderson never though much about her nickname until the day she discovered it wasn't a nickname after all. Her worthless parents just never got around to filling out the paperwork. Her legal name is Baby Girl Anderson. Her search to choose a new, meaningful name for herself gets off to a rocky start when she meets two boys, introducing herself as Barbie, a sassy cheerleader, to one, and Mary, a pious Christian girl, to the other. As she bobs and weaves her way through two new personalities that don't quite fit, her secrets catch up with her, culminating in a startling revelation that will stun the whole town and turn Baby's life upside-down in a way she never expected.Say My Name is an edgy contemporary stand-alone coming-of-age romance full of language and situations that are NOT appropriate for children under the age of fifteen, and then, proceed with caution. If you do not like four letter words, you will want to stay far, far away from this book. The main character is a teenager with virtually no support system, who needs to find her way in the world basically on her own, and that's a messy process. She's someone you can cheer for, but again if you don't like language or difficult themes involving drugs and sex, this is not the book for you. This book was previously traditionally published. It was titled No Use for a Name and was available from April 2016 to December 2019 under that title. If you previously purchased that book, you will not find this copy to be significantly different, though a number of typos have been fixed and it has been updated with more current technology terms and slang.
