Spine chipped at head and foot, faded, with some lesser fading along margins of boards. Internally, endpapers tanned, remnants of bookplate on paste-down front endpaper, 2 previous owners' signatures on title page, paper age yellowed, with tanning on 2 pages from laid-in newspaper clipping, some nicks and chips along edges of frontispiece, neat pencil bracketing on 10 to 15 pages, otherwise tight, clean, and probably carefully read only once. Interesting account of the life and times; his circle included Samuel Taylor Coleridge, William Wordsworth; Sir Walter Scott, Lord Byron and a host of other luminaries of the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
