This story is about one of the Hell's Eight Cowboy Marshals who finds his woman and then goes about trying to protect her. It's a romantic series so I thought I'd love it. I just wanted to get to the end of the story and then when I got to the end I wished I hadn't . The story was just missing something for me and I didn't find it thrilling or interesting. I fell asleep several times and it seemed to take twice as long as normal to read. The end of the story was so depressing and took such massive left turn I wanted to cry, there was no feel good at the end just sorrow for knowing to much about too horrible things. I make myself read a new author every other book because I read so much but I also have no interest in reading the series or any other of Sarah McCartys books. Next time I'm in the mood for a good romantical western I'll sit down with a good Linda Lael Miller book. instead.
