Three Stories based in :
Arizona -re Cinnabar from which the Nazi' could easily extract Mercury-vital in armaments.
2nd Story based in the beautiful Springs of the Palms-Palm
Springs-wealthy Shiekh hires the Saint for a Thousand Dollars per diem. Saint is to find who is attempting to eliminate this Playboy Sheikh-conspiracy between one of his Harem and the Sheikh himself!
Final Story in Hollywood-usual compromising Photo and Blackmail. Nice to read about once famous "watering holes" some still present or just recently gone, e.g. the BROWN DERBY.
3 interesting stories in 3 different and still famous and exotic towns. Can't lose. What I liked is that Pat is with him, in Hollywood.
It's a great loss when one of his "gang" is not around.. I wonder whatever became of Hoppy and even Pat, recalling that Pat met the Saint in his first Episode in Devon!
I am also delighted that many of the sites are very familiar,
as were the streets in London. To think that I first read some of these novels-all are now out of print-during my brief stint in High School, in Georgetown, Br Guiana (now Guyana) in the early 50s.!. They helped me considerably during my First Heart Attack in 2005!.
Thank you Mr Charteris.
