It also gives you more personal safety options than the all or nothing approach of be violent or be a victim.Surprisingly, the most effective personal safety measures are non-violent. There is a time and a place for physical self-defense. Those are extreme situations. In daily life knowledge, common sense, avoidance and deterrence will go further to keep you safe.
