The new booklet contains a Foreword by HM Chief Inspector of Factories. Safe Practices in Chemical Laboratories takes account of recent technical and legislative developments affecting health and safety in chemical laboratories. In particular the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 1988 (COSHH) will have profound implications for many laboratories and users are strongly recommended to read the new booklet in conjunction with the Society's publication 'COSHH in laboratories'.
