R. 35 and S. 1949 One thing that I would like to preface with, this is the most heavily used park area in the United States of America, the Blue Ridge Parkway area, and Senator Sanford and I live near this area. Lost Cove and Harper Creek are in the Blue Ridge Parkway area, and the numbers of people using this park as a place to camp, fish, and so forth is unbelievable. So if I may, I will make my formal statement. I am pleased to have the opportunity today to speak on behalf of legislation I introduced, along with my colleague, Senator Sanford, to designate certain lands in North Carolina as wilderness.
