RuPaul's Go-Go Box Classics is a collection of 18 disco, dance and urban tracks, many of which are little-known songs from superstars like the Pointer Sisters ("Goldmine"), Aretha Franklin ("Rock-A-Lott"), Paula Abdul ("Vibeology"), Diana Ross ("Lovin', Livin' & Givin'"), Natalie Cole ("Party Lights (Live)") and Cameo ("Shake Your Pants"). All of the songs are picked by RuPaul, who had become some sort of mascot around Rhino by the time this was released -- it feels like the label can't go three months without releasing a new RuPaul-related project. Nevertheless, Go-Go Box Classics is one of the better RuPaul records, since it has a lot of obscurities and rarities that make it an interesting listen.
