Near Fine. First edition. Spine a bit toned and a bit of wear at the spine base and bottom corners, a near fine copy lacking the dust jacket. A collection of short stories, two of which became very good films: 1935's *Alibi Ike* (featuring the debut of Olivia de Havilland as the love interest of kidnapped pitching sensation Joe E. Brown) and 1949's *Champion* (with Kirk Douglas in his star-making role as a ruthless boxer).
