loved this book - a good story but I see its major value in Connie's spiritual belief and the concept of a life of worship in all your activities.Have used the book in the past in dealing with young people trying to decide on how to live life and set their own standards

An oldie but pertinent again
This 1951 book, which I read when it first came out, strikes close to home for me as the story deals with an airplane mechanic, which my husband was for many years before his death in April, 2007. The book was reviewed in the September, 2007, "Aviation Maintenance" magazine in the column, Backshop by Bart J. Crotty in his"Zen and the Art of Aircraft Maintenance." Nevil Shute (1899-1960) is better known for his book On the Beach which was made into a major motion picture. In today's world of terrorist tactics, I recommend both of Shute's novels.
