Seller's Description:
None. Very Good. A first edition copy of this scarce memoir of several war campaigns, by John Spencer Cooper. A fascinating work, with first-hand accounts of several missions from 1809 to 1815 in Europe and America. Written by John Spencer Cooper, a late Sergeant in the 7th Royal Fusileers. This is the first edition of this work, with the second edition not printed until 1914. This work includes the Battle of Talavera, the Battle of Busacco, the Battle of Albuhera, Battle of the Pyrenees, Battle of Victoria, Battle of Pampeluna, Battle of Vera, Battle of Orthes, Battle of Thoulouse, Battle of New Orleans and more. In a full cloth binding with blind stamping to boards. Externally, smart. Small amount of bumping to the extremities and to the head and tail of spine. Light rubbing to joints. Internally, firmly bound. Prior owner's marks to margins of pages 2 and 3, not obstructing text. Pages are generally bright, slightly age toned to edges. The odd spots throughout. Very Good.
