Publisher's file copy from the archive at Gollancz with their neat stamp 'File Copy' on the front pastedown. Including a Gollancz one page flyer with a review from Alan Paton, "Anyone who reads this book should understand all the better the utter refusal of so many Africans to go on accepting white domination, and their deep desire, not for revenge, but for freedom." Quotation by Doris Lessing on the rear jacket panel reads, "I had to stop reading it because I was crying, and I don't cry very easily." Very good indeed in complete, slightly used, very good d/w with some rubbing and edgewear. Very small number '60' at rear top inside corner of jacket, written by Gollancz on their file copies to note the year of publication. Decent copy.
