The principal defect in the canal, as it stands at present, appears to be the entire want of irrigation on the west bank of Defects at present. i.. the Bhygool; this, however, has not been entirely neglected. On the western branch from the Lowka overfall, a regulating head has been built near the village Koonverpoor, and a rajbuha laid out and excavated in a westerly direction till it is stopped by the Bhygool. Over this river I propose taking the water by an aqueduct ninety feet in length, and then running a rajbuha down the west bank of the Bhygool, as far as the Choreylee dam. When this is completed the original design may be considered as carried out, and all that part Suggestions for future n.i. -, -i /.. management and im-ot the country, favorably situated for receiving water provements. from the Bhygool canal, will I think have been brought under its influence. During the ensuing season there will be no lack of employment for Mr. Aspinall in charge of this work. But very little has been done as yet in laying out the more minute details of the irrigation, and this will require close attention. The irrigation cuts will be numerous but very short, and I anticipate no difficulty in getting the zemindars to pay for them.
