Government of Canada Bindery', gilt stamped on the foot of the spine. In the early days the government often bound ten or twenty copies of some government publications; distributed for presentation, to the author, the minister, etc. Transcripts of documents received for 1896 from the Public Record Office, London are outlined: Indian Lands on the Grand River (with detailed map), the War of 1812, Roman Catholic Church in Upper Canada and State Papers of Lower Canada, 1813 to 1818.
