The clatter of the wooden shoes upon the macadamized roads, the bright sunshine and the clear blue sky, the sparkling waters of the beautiful harbor-- all these mingled sights and sounds seemed to make a fairyland for me, where I dreamed happily away the few hours at my disposal. Friends living in Yokohama had invited me to visit them, so finally I started in the direction of the Bluff where their home was ed.
