Bob Schulz is a fine trad cornetist who takes an occasional vocal and is sometimes reminiscent in his singing of Clancy Hayes. It seemed logical to have him record a full-length tribute to banjoist/vocalist Hayes and, although there is a bit too much singing on this set (Schulz takes vocals on 16 of the 18 numbers), the high-quality repertoire and the excellent musicianship make this set recommended to classic jazz fans.
