Not exactly the most radio-friendly act in the world, Transglobal Underground goes for a highly adventurous and quirky blend of club and world music on the rhythmic Rejoice, Rejoice. Underground has a very East-meets-West outlook -- dance music, reggae, electronica, funk, and hip-hop are combined with elements of Indian, Middle Eastern, and African music. Synthesizers and keyboards are prominent, but the high-tech element is combined with everything from Indian tabla drums and sitar to the saz, a string instrument associated with traditional Turkish music.
