required reading for any literate member of Cardinal Nation; like most of these "with" or "as told to" autobiographies, this easy read is carefully worded by Rob Rains, but reflects the viewpoints of the man who spent most of the 2nd half of the 20th century around the Redbirds as they transitioned from the St. Louis Swifties of the 1940s to the nearly (but not quite) dynasties of the 1960s & Running Redbirds of the 1980s. Good book from & about a really good guy: they don't make 'em like the Ol' Redhead any more
