This is an extraordinary book and is Paula D'Arcy at her most brilliant.
It would be easy to read this book and not get to the real meaning of it. It is a book of remarkable depth. From the very names of the two villages to the final encounter with the Magician, Anastasia weaves a most wonderful tale of her encounter with the Great Spirt in the ordinary daily life. It is a story of discovery, a story of release from the shackles that much of religion places on us in the name of religion. It is the story of the discovery of real freedom following on one's encounter with the real God. It is one of the most exciting books I have ever read in the area of spiritual discovery.
