i read the book twice already. and now i have a friend reading it... because it's a book that takes more than one read-through. once i got into "the groove" that Lauren Winner writes in, it was a quick read. Winner writes with honesty from her own story, as well as those of friends and students. Winner has a good handle on what the thought patterns regarding sexual intercourse are in today's society. that helps immensely; Winner speaks to the arguments of "casual sex", of "we're going to get married anyway", and masterbation. She doesn't sugar-coat or say "everyone must figure it out for themselves" -- she uses the Biblical account of Creation, and of G-d's continuous love for humanity as the primary basis for her position.
